The HobbyZone® AeroScout™ S 2 1.1m makes learning to fly an RC (radio controlled) airplane more fun and easier than ever before! It's the perfect trainer because it's very durable and is equipped with exclusive SAFE® (Sensor Assisted Flight Envelope) technology that helps to prevent overcontrol, loss of orientation and crashes so nearly everyone can learn to fly successfully. It also features Beginner, Intermediate and Experienced flight modes so you can choose the level of stability and control you need at the flip of a switch. The “pusher” power configuration and EPO construction make it more durable than other similar class models. Tricycle landing gear with oversized tires and a steerable nose wheel makes it easy to take off from and land on a wide variety of surfaces from pavement to grass – or you can install the optional floats (sold separately) to fly from ponds and lakes!

The HobbyZone® AeroScout™ S 2 1.1m is the perfect trainer because it makes learning to fly an RC airplane easier and more fun than ever before! It's equipped with exclusive SAFE® (Sensor Assisted Flight Envelope) technology that helps to prevent overcontrol, loss of orientation and crashes so nearly everyone can learn to fly successfully. Beginner, Intermediate and Experienced modes allow you to choose the level of stability and control you need, or are ready to try, at the flip of a switch. Plus, you can instantly return to steady flight using Panic Recovery mode with the push of a button! Its unique “pusher” power configuration offers improved safety along with better propeller and motor protection, and it's built with advanced EPO material that makes it extremely durable. Oversized tires and a steerable nose wheel make it easy to take off from and land on a variety of surfaces including grass at large parks, soccer and other suitable flying fields. Or install the optional floats (sold separately) to fly from water!

Both versions are equipped with a Spektrum Avian 30-amp Smart Lite ESC that provides a variety of real-time power system-related telemetry data including motor RPM, current, battery voltage, and more to compatible Spektrum AirWare™ equipped transmitters, and even approximate flight battery power remaining via multiple LEDs on the DXS transmitter included with the RTF Basic version. They also include an upgraded AR631+ receiver that's pre-loaded with a Smart Transmitter File (STF) that allows you to automatically import all the settings for NX and iX series transmitters during the binding process.

The Ready-To-Fly (RTF) Basic version includes everything needed to fly in one box except for a battery and charger. This allows you to choose a convenient and money-saving Spektrum Powerstage bundle or the separate battery and charger you prefer! Plus, the included Spektrum DXS 2.4GHz transmitter can be used with other Bind-N-Fly® (BNF) Basic aircraft after you learn to fly the AeroScout S 2 successfully! A Bind-N-Fly (BNF) Basic version is also available for experienced pilots who want to use their favorite Spektrum transmitter along with batteries and chargers they may already own. And for both versions, the powerful and efficient brushless power system including a telemetry-capable Smart Lite ESC, receiver and servos, are all factory-installed in the durable EPO airframe that assembles quickly and easily without the need for glue or special tools.

The RTF Basic version also includes a “full” copy of the RealFlight Trainer Edition RC flight simulator that runs on a wide variety of PCs (Personal Computers) from low-cost laptops to “gaming” desktops running Windows® 10 or 11. This simulator features many of the most popular Horizon Hobby trainer airplanes and helicopters, including the AeroScout S 2 1.1m, along with built-in Virtual Flight Instructor lessons. It also includes additional features including nearly two dozen “Next Step After a Trainer” (Skill Level 2) aircraft and variants plus 4 flying sites/fields that are unlockable reward content after you fly the trainer models for just 2–4 hours. Other added features include a fresh and modern user interface that's even easier and more intuitive to use, multiplayer options so you can train and fly with others online, the option to turn on wind, unlock float flying, and more! This helps new pilots learn to fly successfully by practicing on a desktop PC at home or on a laptop just about anywhere else. Simply use a USB-C cable to connect the updated and upgraded DXS controller/transmitter to a compatible USB port on your computer to fly!

And the fun doesn't stop after you learn how to fly! In the Experienced Mode, the AeroScout S 2 is capable of performing aerobatic maneuvers including loops, rolls, inverted (upside down) flight and more. You can even use the same DXS transmitter that's included with the RTF Basic version, along with the same battery and charger you use for the AeroScout, to fly a variety of BNF Basic version “Next Step” (Skill Level 2) aircraft including the E-flite P-51D Mustang 1.0m,T-28 Trojan 1.1m, Timber 1.5m, Habu SS 50mm EDF and others!

Ready-To-Fly Basic Flexibility

This Ready-To-Fly (RTF) Basic version includes a Spektrum™ DXS controller/transmitter equipped with industry-leading DSMX® 2.4GHz technology and everything else you need to fly except for a rechargeable lithium polymer (LiPo) battery and charger for the airplane. The convenient and money-saving Spektrum™ Powerstage 2 bundle (SPMXPSA200) includes a compatible 3S 2200mAh Smart G2 LiPo battery and an S120 Smart charger that can be used with a variety of USB power sources. Or you can choose the separate 3S 1300–2200mAh battery and compatible charger you prefer!

RealFlight Included

RealFlight is the #1 RC flight simulator in the world, and the included “full” version of Trainer Edition includes many of the most popular Horizon Hobby trainer aircraft from Blade, HobbyZone and E-flite – including the AeroScout S 2 1.1m. It also features Virtual Flight Instructor lessons that help new pilots learn to fly successfully because they can practice flying on a desktop PC at home or on a laptop just about anywhere else! You can use a USB-C cable to connect the included DXS controller/transmitter to a compatible USB port on your computer.

Exclusive Technologies

Both versions of this updated and upgraded AeroScout S 2 1.1m are equipped with a factory-installed Spektrum AR631+ receiver that features exclusive Spektrum SAFE technology to help prevent overcontrol, loss of orientation and crashes so nearly everyone can learn to fly successfully. It also features Beginner, Intermediate and Experienced flight modes so you can choose the level of stability and control you need at the flip of a switch. The receiver is also loaded with a Smart Transmitter File (STF) that allows you to automatically import all the settings for NX and iX series transmitters during the binding process so you can be flying in less time than ever before when using a Spektrum computer transmitter!

Beginner Mode

In this flight mode, the airplane has pitch and bank angle limits to prevent over-control that can result in a loss of orientation and crashes. When the control sticks are released, the airplane automatically returns to level flight on its own allowing you to relax and enjoy just 'steering' the airplane through the sky. This flight mode also makes it much easier to take off and land!

Intermediate Mode

This flight mode allows more freedom in pitch and bank but still prevents significant over-control and the airplane does not return to level flight on its own. This allows you to make tighter turns and to climb and descend faster as your skills advance.

Experienced Mode

In Experienced Mode there are no pitch or bank angle limits so you have complete control! You can even fly inverted (upside down) and perform aerobatic maneuvers including loops, rolls and more.

Panic Recovery

If you lose control of the airplane in the Intermediate or Experienced flight modes, simply press the Panic Recovery button or switch to Beginner Mode and release the control sticks. SAFE technology will automatically return the airplane to level flight!

Telemetry Capable

The AeroScout S 2 1.1m is equipped with a Spektrum Smart Lite ESC that can provide a variety of real-time power system related telemetry data to compatible transmitters. This includes approximate flight battery power remaining via multiple LEDs and audible alerts from the DXS transmitter included with the RTF Basic version. It will also provide motor RPM, current, overall battery voltage and more to Spektrum AirWare™ equipped transmitters (including the DX6e and 8e, DX6 G2/3 and 8 G2, the DX9, NX6 to 20, iX12 to 20 and others) while you fly.

Extremely Durable

The unique design and “pusher” power configuration helps to protect the propeller and motor while also offering improved safety. Plus its construction with advanced EPO material delivers a lightweight yet durable airframe that's tough enough to handle everyday flying punishment without getting bent out of shape. Easy Assembly

The AeroScout S 2 1.1m arrives mostly factory-assembled with the power system, receiver and servos installed. All you need to do is finish some quick and easy final assembly, without the use of glue or special tools, and you'll be ready to fly in less time than it takes to charge a battery!

Capable Gear

The wide-stance tricycle landing gear with a steerable nose wheel and oversized tires offers improved ground handling for easier take offs and landings on a wide variety of surfaces from paved runways to grass parks and even dirt fields.

Optional Floats

Turn the AeroScout S 2 into a float plane with the optional float set (HBZ3811, sold separately). Installation takes just a few minutes and all the necessary hardware is included with the airplane and float set.
