E-flite Micro Boeing 787 Dreamliner Twin 30mm EDF Introduction

Boeing designed the 787 Dreamliner family to be more efficient and versatile so airlines can open new nonstop routes and fly passengers in exceptional comfort. The 787 features advanced aerodynamics, more efficient engines, and extensive use of carbon-fiber composites throughout the airframe to optimize performance, lower fuel usage, and reduce maintenance costs while delivering longer range and greater route flexibility for airlines. The E-flite Micro 787 Dreamliner Twin 30mm EDF is officially licensed by Boeing to replicate the advanced airliner with a variety of scale details and features. Its twin 30mm EDF power system delivers better-than-scale-like performance, plus long flight times when using 3S 600–850mAh batteries. It's also equipped with exclusive Spektrum AS3X and optional-use SAFE Select technologies to make it the easiest to fly 787 model yet – even when flying in some wind. Optional-use fixed landing gear with a steerable nose wheel makes it easy to taxi, take off from, and land on smooth surfaces, or you can leave the landing gear off for more speed and performance when hand launching and flying over grass. Best of all, it arrives fully factory finished and ready to fly right out of the box for an authentic airliner flying experience you can't get anywhere else!

E-flite Micro Boeing 787 Dreamliner Twin 30mm EDF Overview

The Boeing 787 Dreamliner is one of the most advanced and versatile airliners ever to take to the skies, which is why it serves so many airlines across the globe. The E-flite Micro 787 Dreamliner Twin 30mm EDF is an officially licensed scale replica designed to be more affordable and practical for intermediate to experienced RC pilots to fly in more places and smaller spaces. It arrives fully assembled and ready to fly right out of the box, including a factory-installed control unit featuring a Spektrum receiver equipped with exclusive AS3X and optional-use SAFE Select technologies. It's ready to bind to your 5–6+ channel DSMX/DSM2 equipped transmitter, plus you'll receive real-time telemetry data, including overall battery voltage, current, and more – with Smart and non-Smart batteries – when using compatible Spektrum radios featuring AirWare software.

The twin brushless outrunner motors, paired with 30mm fans, are compatible with 3S 600–850mAh batteries to deliver an excellent blend of performance and flight time. It's also the first micro EDF model to feature optional-use motor/thrust reversing to help shorten rollouts after landing. The surprisingly durable EPS airframe features many molded-in scale details and is also equipped with plastic-reinforced nacelle bottoms and wingtips, plus composite reinforcements throughout to make it strong and stiff while also keeping it lightweight. The expertly-engineered design makes it easy to fly in scale-like or sport fashion, and even to perform aerobatics including loops, rolls, and inverted flight. The fixed landing gear plus a steerable nose wheel make it possible to taxi, take off from, and land on smooth surfaces. Or fly without the landing gear installed for more speed and vertical performance while utilizing the automatic Hand Launch Assist Mode for easy hand launching over and landings on grass. It all adds up to deliver an airliner model sized for more convenient storage and transport while offering an unmatched scale flying experience you'll enjoy flight after flight!

Skill Level 3 – Intermediate Pilots (Experience Required)

Skill Level 3 aircraft, like this one, are suitable for RC pilots who already have experience with “Next Step” and beyond aircraft, plus the skills to assemble, set up, and fly similar class models. And although this is the easiest to fly 787 model yet, it's not a suitable first-ever RC aircraft for new pilots. You should have the experience and skills necessary to successfully fly UMX™, Micro, or larger single- and twin-EDF models before attempting to fly the Micro Boeing 787 Dreamliner Twin 30mm EDF.

Are you new to flying RC (Radio Controlled) aircraft? If so, the Micro Boeing 787 Dreamliner Twin 30mm EDF is not a suitable first-ever model, and we recommend learning to fly with one of our purpose-built trainers such as the E-flite Habu STS (Smart Trainer with SAFE) 70mm EDF (www.horizonhobby.cc/HabuSTSRTF). It's equipped with exclusive and innovative SAFE® technology that makes it possible for almost anyone to learn to fly successfully! The Ready-To-Fly (RTF) Basic version includes nearly everything needed to fly — except for a compatible LiPo battery and charger that are sold separately, or together in a money-saving PowerStage bundle — making it a perfect choice if you're a new RC pilot.

Bind-N-Fly® Completion Level Advantage

Already own a Spektrum™ transmitter? Bind-N-Fly® (BNF®) aircraft make getting into the air quickly, and with the best control experience possible, easier than ever. They come out of the box with the power system, servos, and a Spektrum 2.4GHz receiver installed, so all you need to do is bind the receiver to a compatible transmitter, finish any final assembly, and fly!

Exclusive Technologies

This is the first Boeing 787 Dreamliner model equipped with exclusive Spektrum AS3X® and SAFE® Select technologies. AS3X works behind the scenes to smooth out the effects of wind and turbulence to deliver a locked-in feel that makes it seem like you're flying a much larger airplane. Optional-use SAFE Select offers pitch and bank angle limits along with automatic self-leveling that can be turned on and off at the flip of a switch to make this an easier 787 to fly. SAFE Select also features an automatic Hand Launch Assist mode that senses the force of a hand launch and adds up-elevator so the airplane climbs at a higher angle for a few seconds, making launches easier.

Telemetry Capable

The Micro Boeing 787 Dreamliner is equipped with a control unit — including a receiver and ESCs — that provides a variety of real-time, power-system telemetry data, including overall battery voltage, current draw, and more, with both Smart and non-Smart batteries. View it on compatible Spektrum AirWare equipped transmitters (including the DX6e and 8e, DX6 G2/G3 and 8 G2, the DX9, NX6 to 20, the iX12 to 20, and others) while you fly.

High Performance

The factory-installed twin brushless power systems feature 30mm fans with powerful 3S-compatible outrunner motors. This setup delivers excellent speed and performance, plus longer-than-average EDF flight times, when using the recommended 600mAh non-Smart and 850mAh Smart 30+C LiPo batteries with an IC2 connector. It also features optional-use motor/thrust reversing to help shorten rollout after landing.

Gear Options

Use the included fixed landing gear — with a steerable nose wheel and simulated gear doors/strut covers — to taxi, take off from, and land on smooth surfaces. Or fly without the landing gear installed for more speed and performance, using the automatic Hand Launch Assist Mode for easy hand launches and landings on grass.

Durable Design

The EPS airframe is lighter and stiffer than EPO or EPP while featuring molded-in scale details, plastic-reinforced nacelle bottoms and wingtips, and composite reinforcements throughout to make it strong yet lightweight. The result is an outstanding scale appearance that's easy to maintain and delivers the best possible flying experience. It's also easily repairable with odorless/foam-safe CA, Foam 2 Foam, epoxy, and other foam-friendly adhesives — and a complete line of replacement and spare parts is readily available should you need them.

Fully Assembled

The Micro 787 Dreamliner arrives 100% factory-assembled and ready to fly right out of the box! It's equipped with industry-leading Spektrum 2.4GHz technology that binds to your 5-6+ channel DSMX®/DSM2® equipped transmitter, so you can be flying within minutes of opening the box.

Factory Finished

The factory-applied paint and decal finish not only looks great, it also faithfully replicates the Boeing demonstrator trim scheme.

3D Print Display Stand
